The Overtown Music Project officially launches in the fall, but this Saturday Miami got a taste of whats to come!

With a series of events showcasing the music and history of Overtown, the OMP hopes to shed light on the diverse and often overlooked story of this legendary district - once looked upon as the ‘Harlem of the South’.

Check out Jipsy’s Snaps from the Event which featured legendary jazz saxophonist Charles Austin and The Vagabond’s own Carmel Ophir on the turntables spinning some Motown!

This Saturday - July 17th - The Vagabond and Back Door Bamby welcome LOUIE VEGA!

‘Little Louie’ Vega’s Dance Ritual is cast from a different mold than other parties in the City of Lights. Vega’s 5-hour solo sets are born out of all night marathons at Larry Levan’s Paradise Garage …and David Mancuso’s Loft. Dance Ritual is a slowly-building crescendos of bumpy house music, Afro-Cuban influenced tribal rhythms, and fervent soulful vocals, climaxing with a crowd full of satisfied yet quizzical expressions, wondering where the night went, why the sun is out, and why their feet hurt so much.

I would recommend wearing some comfortable shoes.

Hatcha is Croydon’s answer to Moodyman and has over 18 years of DJ experience under his belt. Following a job as A&R man and shop hand at the legendary Big Apple Records, Hatcha became the first main DJ behind the now worldwide recognised Dubstep genre. He also mixed the very first “Dubstep Allstars” compilation (and volume 4 alongside Youngsta), making his name as the Godfather of Dubstep.

He joins our Resident DJs A-Train and Alex Caso for a night of unforgettable music backed by MCs Jumanji and Nome as well as local dubstep cyborgs Basshead, FTG, Munkz, Gizmatix and DS!
